Kate Verrion honed her expert painting skills whilst studying at Wimbledon School of Art. Upon graduating, Verrion further perfected her signature style at Hornsey College of Art which has produced other notable artistic talents such as Anish Kapoor, Paul Neagu and Allen Jones. Over the years Verrion has sharpened her hyperreal technique of oil painting, feeling now that she has attained the consistency in style to present to a highly appreciative collector base.
Kate’s work is a phenomenally accurate, detailed, unembellished depiction of nature. Verrion creates each painting from subjects that are in season, arranging them in a tableau in front of her whilst she works. This enables Verrion to achieve a control and likeness of her still lifes with a deft and authentic approach. Each work is created using brushes made up of very few, super fine hairs, which also allows for rich and subtle detailing within each unique piece. Her work is imbued within the tradition of the Dutch masters, and the modest aesthetic of Giorgio Morandi.
