Dominic Denis (b.1963) one of the original Young British Artists (YBA), is celebrating the selection and release, by the Tate, of his ‘Untitled 1992’ on card, with this exhibition ‘House of Dominic Denis’. This stunning exhibition is inspired by Dominic’s work held in the Tate archives from his ‘exterior’ paintings which he first began back in 1992 when commissioned alongside 10 other artists to create the ‘London’ portfolio. The artists included Marc Quinn, Rachel Whiteread, Gavin Turk and Damien Hirst.
This series of work is truly stunning. Minimalist, the balance of geometry and colour and the superbly naive touch of a flower pot or staircase creates an overall image of serenity and calm, a sense of peace.
