MR. MESSY

Mr. Messy is a London based street artist who uses Mr. Men characters to evoke feelings of nostalgia and fondness. His works are often made from reclaimed palette wood, connecting the work to their urban environment as well as the theme of this collection titled, “Reclaimed Hero’s” The work appears to be from bygone era, expressing more simple times.

Working with these playful and charming Mr. Men characters allows the Artist to move away from the complexities of modern day living and global news events. The intention seems to be to encourage the viewer to experience the simple act of feeling joy through art. In doing so this acts as an antidote and escape from our mixed-up world. As a result, the charm and playful nature of the work has the potential of casting away our concerns and anxieties by allowing ourself to engage in an imaginary Mr. Man world of colour, wit and fun.
