I’d be lost without you – Jayson Lilley

Arriving in London at 21, Jayson was immediately swept up in the rhythm, noise and energy of the city — a world away from the Devon landscape of his childhood.

At first, he found his way through this unfamiliar place quite literally: following Tube maps, discovering iconic buildings and learning the shape of the skyline. But over time, London became familiar through the smaller moments — a favourite bar, a picnic in the park surrounded by a noisy crowd of friends, or an early-morning run through quiet backstreets before the city had properly woken.

Layer by layer, experience by experience, London became home — and an enduring muse for some of Lilley’s most recognisable work.

With this new piece, Jayson invites you to become part of that story by adding your own layer to his London. Write the name of a favourite place, a treasured memory, a person, or simply a moment that made this extraordinary city feel like home to you.

Because London is more than its landmarks, its lights and its unmistakable skyline. A city becomes home through the lives lived within it — through the memories we make, the places we return to and, above all, the people we share it with.
